What is Steelhead?

Steelhead belong to the same species as rainbow trout. But where rainbow trout stay in fresh water all their lives, in the wild, steelhead are anadromous which means they migrate into the ocean, change colour and get much, much larger than rainbow trout. Our healthy and flavourful steelhead are native to the Pacific Northwest and are favoured by seafood lovers everywhere. Steelhead are characterized by their bright orange/red coloured flesh, rich buttery flavour, and firm, moist texture. Organic Ocean Steelhead is high in omega-3 fatty acids, making them an excellent choice for the health-conscious consumer. Our Steelhead are raised in mountain-fed artisanal waters without the use of antibiotics or hormones. How to Cook Steelhead Portions
